Qingdao, June 10, 2018. / Kabar /. President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov took part in the meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, held in Qingdao, China.
Chinese President Xi Jinping welcomed the Summit participants, delivered a speech and handed over the SCO chairmanship to Kyrgyzstan.
He stressed that China will assist Kyrgyzstan in preparing for the Summit and expressed the hope that the next SCO Summit will also be fruitful.
Speaking at the meeting, the heads of state and prime ministers congratulated China on its successful chairmanship and assured Kyrgyzstan in their support.
The heads of state spoke about the prospects for relations within the SCO framework, plans for the future development of this organization, shared their views on the development priorities of the countries of the region.
Today, Chinese President Xi Jinping, Presidents of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev, Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov, Pakistan Mamnoon Hussein, Russia Vladimir Putin, Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, as well as Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended the meeting. In addition, the leaders of Afghanistan, Belarus, Mongolia and Iran take part as observer countries.
