Bishkek, Oct. 28, 2024. /Kabar/. Chairman of the National Bank of Kyrgyzstan Melis Turgunbaev attended an annual meeting of the Swiss voting group in the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank group in Washington.
During the meeting, topical issues of world economic development and global inflation trends were discussed, as well as prospects for further cooperation within the Swiss group of IMF countries, the Bank’s press service said.
A significant event was the participation of Liechtenstein in this meeting as the new 191st member state of the IMF, which also joined the Swiss voting group of the IMF.
The Kyrgyz Republic has been a member of the IMF since 1992, and of the Swiss voting group of the IMF since 1993. The Swiss voting group includes countries such as Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Poland, Kazakhstan, Serbia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Switzerland, and, as of 2024, Liechtenstein.
