Kyrgyzstan attracts investment projects from development partners

Bishkek, June 23, 2020. /Kabar/. The Government is attracting investment projects from development partners in the amount of $56.2 million, Finance Minister of Kyrgyzstan Baktygul Zheenbayeva told a news briefing.

In particular, $9 million within World Bank, including medical equipment worth $4.2 million to the Health Ministry, also the same equipment worth $3.9 million is planned to be supplied.

According to the finance minister, in addition, a tender process is underway under the World Bank Agreement for $12.1 million. The project will support the health sector: equipment, PPE, consumables of the rapid response teams, as well as strengthening the capacity of hospitals - medical equipment, consumables, improvement of the system of medical waste disposal.

"The Government is also in the process of ratifying and bringing into force the $20 million worth of agreements with the Asian Development Bank and the Islamic Development Bank for $15 million. Under these agreements, medical equipment and drugs to combat COVID-19 will soon be purchased," she added.
