Bishkek, Oct. 2, 2020. /Kabar/. President Sooronbay Jeenbekov presented on Thursday state awards to Kyrgyzstanis who have contributed to the fight against the coronavirus pandemic, his press service said.
In his congratulatory speech, the head of state noted with pride the high level of solidarity and unity of the Kyrgyz people.
"Many of our citizens, regardless of age and status, actively were helping those who needed support. The solidarity of our people saved the lives of hundreds of our citizens,” the Kyrgyz leader stressed.
The head of state emphasized the contribution of medical workers in combating the pandemic, who fulfilled their professional duty with honor and high civil responsibility.
The president also expressed his words of sorrow in memory of all compatriots who could not be saved from the disease.
Sooronbay Jeenbekov noted that the situation in the fight against infection revealed problems in the health care system, which had been accumulating for years. Therefore, the meeting of the Security Council will consider issues related to addressing systemic problems in the health care system.
State awards were presented to medical workers, as well as employees of rescue services, law enforcement and other stat bodies, involved in the fight against the pandemic, volunteers - students of medical faculties, journalists.
Decrees of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic on awarding for contribution to the fight against coronavirus infection (COVID-19), ensuring health protection and sanitary-epidemiological well-being of the population, and for selfless and conscientious work, fortitude and patience, devotion to civil duty, professionalism in saving human lives, shown in the fight against coronavirus infection (COVID-19) were signed on July 3 - the Medical Worker Day and Aug. 27, 2020, on the eve of Independence Day of the Kyrgyz Republic.
