Bishkek, March 5, 2020 / Kabar /. The Pervomaysky District Court of Bishkek recognized the decision of the Pervomaiski district administration to restrict demonstrations from March 4 to July 1, 2020 as legal.
The Pervomaiski district administration justified that demonstrations on the central streets, near the buildings of state and municipal institutions, and squares violate the stability of the functioning of the capital. “As practice shows, the leaders and organizers of such meetings with the participation of a large crowd of people do not control the process, as a result there are mass riots, congestion, obstruction of traffic,” the document said.
Another reason of the ban is the situation with coronavirus and the threat of its spread. “Citizens are recommended to avoid crowded places, to limit the holding of events involving a large number of people,” the document said.
Thus, the Pervomaysky court considered this decision of the district administration and found it legal and justified.
Earlier, the initiative group and the Chance Crisis Center notified the municipality of their intention to hold a march in Bishkek on March 8 against violence regarding children and women. This march is also prohibited.
