Bishkek, Feb. 10, 2022 . / Kabar / . Kyrgyzstan has banned the circulation of unlabeled alcohol and tobacco products, the press service of the State Tax Service (STS) of the republic reported Thursday.
Since July 1, 2021, a mandatory labeling of alcohol and tobacco products was introduced with means of identification, which provides for a ban on the production and import of unmarked products.
"In addition, starting Jan. 1, 2022, the turnover of unlabeled alcohol and tobacco products is prohibited in the country. Taxpayers had to mark the remains of unmarked products until Dec. 31, 2021 to mark the remains of unmarked products," the report said.
Under the Code of Offenses of the Kyrgyz Republic, the reuse of second-hand means of identification or importation of goods into the customs territory of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), as well as storage and sale of goods without applying the appropriate means of identification shall entail a fine of 100 calculation indexes for individuals and 280 calculation indexes for legal entities.
