Bishkek, July 5, 2024. /Kabar/. Kyrgyzstan has begun exporting watermelons and melons to Russia, the Ministry of Agriculture reported.

According to data of the ministry, in the Aksy region of Jalal-Abad Oblast, the area of ​​sown melons is 2242 hectares, of which watermelon is sown on an area of ​​1991.0 hectares, melon - 251 hectares.

To date, the harvesting area is 700.0 hectares, where the yield was 250 c/ha, the gross harvest was 17,500 tons, of which watermelon is 15,929 tons, melon is 1,571 tons.

In order to provide comprehensive assistance to farmers of the Aksy region who intend to sell watermelon and melon to Russia and Kazakhstan, the Ministry has organized the provision of cargo transport vehicles, and also provides assistance in the smooth crossing of borders and the sale of watermelon and melon in the markets of Russia and Kazakhstan.
