Bishkek, May 28, 2021. / Kabar /. President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov signed a decree "On calling a repeat elections of Bishkek, Osh and Tokmok City Councils of the Kyrgyz Republic”, his press service said.
In order to hold repeat elections of deputies of local councils due to invalidation of the results of the city council elections of Bishkek, Osh and Tokmok, guided by the Constitution of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Law of the Kyrgyz Republic "On Election of Deputies of Local Councils", it is decided:
- To call a re-election of deputies of Bishkek, Osh and Tokmok city councils of the Kyrgyz Republic on Sunday, July 11, 2021;
- The Central Commission for Elections and Referendums of the Kyrgyz Republic shall organize the holding of elections to the above representative bodies of local self-government in accordance with the legislation of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic is instructed to take measures to ensure the rule of law, the rights and freedoms of citizens, the rule of law and public safety, sanitary and epidemiological safety and protection of public health.
On May 19, 2020 the Central Elections Commission invalidated the results of local city council elections.
On April 11, local council elections and the referendum on the adoption of the draft of the new Constitution were held in Kyrgyzstan.
According to preliminary data, six parties passed to the Bishkek City Council.
However, on May 12, during the session, members of Bishkek Territorial Elections Commission declared the results of elections to the Bishkek City Council invalid.
Three political organizations (Emgek, Ak-Bata, and NDPK) were withdrawn, and the ballots with votes for these parties were declared invalid.
