Kyrgyzstan ceases servicing Mir cards

Bishkek, April 3, 2024. / Kabar/. The Interbank Processing Center (IPC) announced the cessation of servicing Mir cards in Kyrgyzstan.

The company said that on February 23, 2024, Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) imposed sanctions against the card operator of the Mir payment system - National Payment Card System JSC (NSPK JSC).

Thus, in order to minimize the risk of secondary sanctions, IPC, as the guarantor of the uninterrupted operation of the national payment system Elcart, informs about the termination of servicing Mir bank cards in its infrastructure from April 5, 2024 due to the termination of relations with NSPK JSC.
