Bishkek, Nov. 29, 2021 . / Kabar / . Vaccination against COVID-19 with any vaccine currently available in Kyrgyzstan can be given to unvaccinated citizens, the Health Ministry’s press service said.
A repeat primary series of vaccinations can be given to citizens traveling outside the country for cross-border travels, as required by host country. Repeated vaccination is possible with any vaccine approved for use in the Kyrgyz Republic.
Revaccination is possible 1 month after the last dose.
An additional (third) dose of the vaccine is intended for:
- persons with moderate to severe immunodeficiency;
- persons 60 years of age or older who have previously received Sinopharm, Sinovac and other inactivated vaccines;
- health care workers who have a very high risk of contracting and transmitting coronavirus;
All of these categories are vaccinated with a booster dose 6 months after receiving the initial vaccination.
- persons after having had COVID-19 disease (including previously vaccinated persons) at least 1 month after recovery if desired.
A total of 1,104,209 doses of vaccine have been given in Kyrgyzstan since the start of the vaccination campaign on March 29,2020. Of these, 888,276 people have received both doses.
Kyrgyzstan started the vaccination campaign on March 29, 2020. The country is inoculating its citizens with Sinopharm, Sputnik-V, Sputnik-Light, Astra Zeneca and Pfizer vaccines. In addition, Kyrgyzstan received 115,200 doses of Moderna vaccine through the COVAX initiative on Nov. 25.
