Kyrgyzstan continues negotiations on Kumtor gold mine

Bishkek, Dec. 24, 2021. / Kabar /. On December 23, Bishkek hosted the second round of negotiations on the Kumtor gold deposit. The meeting was held in the format of a closed video conference.

The Kyrgyz Republic was represented by Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Akylbek Zhaparov, Justice Minister Ayaz Baetov, External Manager of Kumtor Gold Company CJSC Tengiz Bolturuk and other interested persons.

The Canadian side was represented by Scott Perry, President and CEO of Centerra Gold.

The sides exchanged views on the current situation around the mine and discussed issues related to the court proceedings. Following the results of the dialogue, the participants decided to continue the discussion on December 24, the company said in its statement.
