Bishkek, March 4, 2022. / Kabar /. Kyrgyzstan continues work on the adoption of ethnic Kyrgyz in the citizenship of the Kyrgyz Republic, Eliza Esenalieva, director of the Department of Population Registration and Civil Status Acts, told during a press conference at Kabar Agency.

Since June 21 last year, the Ministry of Digital Development of Kyrgyzstan began accepting and processing documents of ethnic Kyrgyz and stateless Kyrgyz nationals in a simplified procedure for acquiring citizenship of the Kyrgyz Republic.

Esenalieva noted that a lot of events were held, including mobile groups' trips to Chui and Batken regions, where they managed to provide 1.5 thousand public services.

“The same work continues in Batken region, as it borders with Tajikistan and we have identified special tasks there. Our mobile groups provide advisory services and accept applications. We managed to provide about 950 public services in this area as of today,” Esenalieva said.

In addition, since the summer of 2021, 2,000 applications for citizenship of the Kyrgyz Republic have already been accepted, of which 600 people have already been able to obtain a national passport of the Kyrgyz Republic.

“We also opened 6 separate points for consultations for ethnic Kyrgyz in the southern regions - in the public service centers of Jalal-Abad, Osh, Batken and Leilek regions so that they can apply for citizenship out of queues in public service centers,” the director said.
