Bishkek, Sept. 9, 2020. /Kabar/. During the pandemic, 16 fatal cases among pregnant women were registered in Kyrgyzstan, obstetrician-gynecologist, professor Arsen Askerov told a briefing at the Government House.
According to him, the Ministry of Health together with an expert group has developed the fourth version of the clinical protocol of coronavirus treatment, which specifies the latest recommendations for diagnosis and treatment of coronavirus infection in pregnant women.
"As you know, in the current situation, pregnant women with mild form of COVID-19 are treated on an outpatient basis. Patients with medium and severe form of disease are receiving treatment in hospitals. During the pandemic, more than 536 pregnant women have recovered and have been discharged. Unfortunately, 16 pregnant women died. The analysis showed that fatal cases occurred as a result of severe form of COVID-19", Askerov said.
Kyrgyzstan has registered 44,613 COVID-19 cases so far, including 40,336 recoveries and 1,063 deaths.
