Bishkek, Nov. 24, 2020. /Kabar/. Local authorities will be entitled to solve the issues of resuming various types of economic activities in the entrusted territories in compliance with necessary sanitary and epidemiological rules, Kyrgyzstan’s Deputy Prime Minister Elvira Surabaldiyeva said on Tuesday during a meeting of the Republican Headquarters for Combating COVID-19.

The meeting discussed the epidemiological situation in the country's regions and considered the progress in building new hospitals and equipping them with necessary medical equipment and inventory.

"It is important to complete the whole complex of works on constructing and equipping medical institutions in time. I ask to pay special attention to this issue. In addition, governors must provide detailed information on humanitarian assistance received and its distribution. It is necessary to clearly record and analyze the assistance," she said.

Members of the Republican HQ also discussed the issues of resuming the work of general educational institutions, cinemas and a number of economic activities.

It was noted that in order to resume economic activity, the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic proposes from Dec. 1, 2020 to delegate to local authorities the responsibility to permit various types of activities in the entrusted territories, subject to the necessary sanitary and epidemiological and other rules.

"Meanwhile, mask regime, social distance and other sanitary and epidemiological rules must be observed. The Republican Headquarters will keep the COVID-19 situation in the regions under control," the deputy PM noted.

Elvira Surabaldiyeva also stressed the need to study the issue of imposing restrictions or complete refusal to participate in the collective celebration of the upcoming New Year holidays.
