Bishkek, May 6, 2021. / Kabar /. The Border Service of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan denies the statement that the citizens of Tajikistan are allegedly being detained at the airports of Bishkek and Osh.
The Kyrgyz Border Service said that the statement on Youtube video by human rights activist Valentina Chupik with the headline "Citizens of Tajikistan are detained at the airports of Bishkek and Osh, they are being taken inadequate measures", is not true and is an attempt to incite ethnic hatred.
Servicemen of the Border Guard Service of the State Committee for National Security in their service activities are guided by international legal treaties and agreements, the Constitution and other normative acts of Kyrgyzstan.
Passage of citizens across the state border of Kyrgyzstan is carried out in a general manner without dividing into citizenship, nationality, racial and ethnicity.
In connection with the shelling of the Tajik side of the border territory of Kyrgyzstan, including the Kyzyl-Bel-Avtodorozhny checkpoint, as well as in order to ensure the safety of citizens at checkpoints across the Kyrgyz-Tajik state border, the passage of persons, cargo and vehicles has been temporarily suspended since the beginning of the border incident.
Under these conditions, to ensure the safety of citizens of Tajikistan who use the airports of Kyrgyzstan to travel to their homeland, the transit of citizens of the Republic of Tajikistan through the territory of Kyrgyzstan is organized along two routes: citizens of Tajikistan are delivered to checkpoints for further travel through Uzbekistan, or they are delivered to checkpoints on the Kyrgyz-Tajik section of state borders Bordobo-Avtodorozhny and Karamyk-Avtodorozhny, where they are handed over to Tajik border guards. In both cases, citizens of Tajikistan are transported to checkpoints by buses of the Kyrgyz side.
These measures are perceived by Tajik citizens as adequate to the current situation and, despite the unfounded statements of Valentina Chupik, the citizens of Tajikistan continue to use the airports of Kyrgyzstan, which is an unequivocal evidence of the security of Kyrgyzstan for Tajik citizens.
Recall that the Tajik side was the first to open fire on the civilian population and the territory of Kyrgyzstan, nevertheless, the Kyrgyz side, observing all the norms of international law, ensures the safety of Tajik citizens on the territory of Kyrgyzstan.
“We believe that Valentina Chupik was deliberately misled by persons interested in destabilizing the situation and turning the region into another hot spot.
The border service of the State Committee for National Security considers the statements of human rights activist Valentina Chupik to be groundless and is taking all measures to prevent an escalation of the conflict between the two states,” the Border Service of Kyrgyzstan said.
