Bishkek, May 17, 2023. / Kabar /. Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic Edil Baisalov met with EBRD President Odile Renaud-Basso.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 32nd Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), held this year in Samarkand city of Uzbekistan, the press service of the Cabinet said.
During the meeting, the deputy chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers spoke about the achievements of the Kyrgyz Republic in strengthening public administration and the financial and economic situation over the past two years.
“Kyrgyzstan is no longer that poor relative who walked with an outstretched hand. Today you are dealing with a state that is confident in its future and is dynamically developing. Our leadership, not in words, but in deeds, is implementing a policy of good governance in the interests of the people of Kyrgyzstan, as exemplified by the doubling of government revenues and the successful resolution of the dispute over the Kumtor mine,” Edil Baisalov said.
He also noted the main directions of development of the Kyrgyz Republic in the near future and the strategic projects implemented by the country's leadership, in particular, mentioning the implementation of energy projects, the construction of the railway and the program for the development of human capital in the field of education and healthcare.
In turn, Odile Renaud-Basso expressed her readiness to cooperate in all areas of mutual interest.
At the end of the meeting, the sides discussed the possibility of cooperation in infrastructure projects and the development of alternative energy sources and the "green economy".
