Kyrgyzstan documents record number of daily COVID-19 cases

Bishkek, June 19, 2020. /Kabar/. As of June 19, another 132 new cases of coronavirus infection were detected in Kyrgyzstan, Deputy Minister of Health Nurbolot Usenbayev told a briefing.

He added that 4,534 laboratory tests were conducted over the past 24 hours.

As a result, 132 new cases were revealed.

Thus, nationwide coronavirus cases have climbed to 2,789.

"Among the new cases, 66 were detected among contact persons, 7 are imported cases, and in 59 cases the source of infection is unknown," the deputy minister added.

In the past 24 hours, 28 people with previously confirmed diagnosis of COVID-19 have recovered in the republic.

Thus, total number of recoveries from coronavirus infection has reached 1,961.

As of June 19, one more coronavirus-related death (55-year-old man) was registered in Kyrgyzstan.

Usenbayev said 544 people are receiving treatment in hospitals, 34 of them are in serious condition, 6 of them are in intensive care.

252 patients with asymptomatic course of the disease have been placed in home isolation according to the new coronavirus action algorithm.
