Kyrgyzstan doubles minimum pension from today

Bishkek, Oct. 1, 2024. /Kabar/. Starting from Oct. 1, the minimum pension in Kyrgyzstan amounted to KGS 6 thousand (USD 71,25), Kabar News Agency has learnt from the press service of the Social Fund of the republic.

Thus, the insurance part of the pension has also increased by 18%.

Currently, the number of pensioners in Kyrgyzstan is more than 785 thousand people. The retirement age for men is 63, and for women - 58.

The largest number of pensioners lives in Osh Oblast - more than 149 thousand people, in Jalal-Abad Oblast - about 146 thousand people and in Bishkek - more than 115 thousand people.

Over 5 years, the number of pensioners increased from 670 thousand to 785 thousand people.

In addition, the insurance parts of pensions of disabled persons of group III are now calculated in full (previously only 50%).

Pensioners permanently residing in the border territories of Batken Oblast with special status have been established monthly compensation payments to their pensions in the amount of KGS 2 thousand.

According to preliminary data, in 2024, the Pension Fund's expenditures will amount to KGS 99.3 billion, or 47 billion more than in 2020, the Social Fund said.
