Kyrgyzstan earns first gold at Greco-Roman Wrestling World Cup in Serbia

Bishkek, Dec. 15, 2020. /Kabar/. Kyrgyzstani wrestler Zholoman Sharshenbekov won gold at the World Cup in Greco-Roman wrestling, which is taking place these days in Belgrade, Serbia.

In the final, Sharshenbekov (60 kg) met with Russian athlete Stepan Maryanyan. The bout ended with a score of 4:4, but since the last point was in favor of the Kyrgyz wrestler, he won the gold medal.

In the semi-final of the competition, Sharshenbekov met with representative of Turkey Ahmed Uyardy. The fight ended with a score of 5:1 in favor of the Kyrgyzstani.
