Kyrgyzstan, ECO discuss strengthening co-op in investment, energy, and tourism

Bishkek, Aug. 4, 2021 . / Kabar / . The headquarters of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) in Tehran (Iran) hosted on Tuesday a meeting of Kyrgyz Ambassador to the Islamic Republic of Iran Turdakun Sydykov with ECO Secretary General Hadi Soleimanpur.

During the meeting, Ambassador Sydykov presented credentials as a permanent representative of the Kyrgyz Republic to the ECO, the press service of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry said.

The sides also discussed priority areas of cooperation and regional economic integration within the ECO, in particular they drew attention to the need to further strengthen cooperation in such priority areas as trade and investment, transport and communication, energy and tourism.

Praising the Kyrgyz Republic's membership in the Economic Cooperation Organization, Secretary General Hadi Soleimanpur noted the active participation and constructive assistance of the Kyrgyz side in addressing topical issues on the agenda of multilateral cooperation within the ECO.

In order to strengthen regional cooperation within the Organization, the sides reaffirmed their commitment to the fundamental principles of the ECO.
