Bishkek, Dec. 29, 2021. / Kabar /. The deputies of the VII convocation of the Jogorku Kenesh elected the speaker of the parliament at today’s first meeting.
Two candidates, Talant Mamytov and Adakhan Madumarov, ran for the post of the speaker.
During the secret ballot, 63 deputies voted for Mamytov, 10 for Madumarov and against all 14 deputies.
Thus, Talanat Mamytov became the speaker of the new parliament.
The oath taking ceremony and the first meeting of the new parliament of Kyrgyzstan took place on Wednesday, where the deputies also elected a speaker.
The parliamentary elections in Kyrgyzstan were held on Nov. 28 through a mixed electoral system, with 54 members of the 90-member parliament elected according to a proportional system from political parties, and 36 others elected from single-mandate constituencies on a majority basis.
