Kyrgyzstan establishes Association of Traditional Sports, Folk Games and Culture

Bishkek, Oct. 27, 2020. /Kabar/. The Association of Kyrgyz Traditional Sports, Folk Games and Culture has been established in Kyrgyzstan, the press service of the State Agency for Youth Affairs, Physical Culture and Sports of the Kyrgyz Republic reported Tuesday.

The Association includes 11 federations on national sports. President and founder of the Association is Almazbek Kasenov, an honored worker of physical culture and sport of the Kyrgyz Republic, former director of the Directorate for National Sports.

Following goals and objectives were announced at the first meeting of the Association on Oct. 22 in Bishkek:

- development of national sports, folk games and culture in the Kyrgyz Republic, increasing the role of national sports, folk games and culture in history, modern life and future;

- uniting efforts and rendering assistance to the national sports federations, folk games and cultural associations of the Kyrgyz Republic for the benefit of their development, promotion and successful performance in the national and international arena;

- development and strengthening of international sport and cultural ties with national associations, federations and cultural associations of near and far abroad countries;

- propaganda and popularization of national sports, folk games and culture among the population of the Kyrgyz Republic.
