Bishkek, Nov. 17, 2021. / Kabar /. The decision of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan established an emergency interdepartmental commission to promptly take urgent measures to protect the health of citizens, study air pollution problems in Bishkek and develop measures to solve them.
The press service of the Cabinet reported the decision was made in order to take urgent measures to protect the health of citizens and reduce air pollution in Bishkek, identify the causes and sources of air pollution.
Bishkek Mayor Aibek Dzhunushaliyev was approved as head of the emergency interdepartmental commission.
On Nov. 15, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Akylbek Zhaparov raised the issue of smog in the capital, instructing to strengthen work with the municipality to address environmental issues.
The emergency commission includes representatives of state and local authorities. It is instructed to take prompt and timely measures to reduce harm and protect the health of citizens, as well as to study and assess the problems of air pollution in Bishkek, identifying the sources of pollution.
