Kyrgyzstan, Estonia agree to strengthen cooperation in education

Bishkek, March 16, 2022. / Kabar /. Minister of Education and Science of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Beishenaliev met on Tuesday with Ambassador of Estonia to Kyrgyzstan Toomas Tirs.

Issues of Kyrgyz-Estonian cooperation in education and plans for their further strengthening were considered, the press service of the Education Ministry reported.

During the meeting, taking into account that Estonia has one of the most developed and effective models of education in the world, the Kyrgyz side expressed interest in establishing closer cooperation between the two countries in the field of education.

Estonia is currently the initiator and executor of many international education projects, which are successfully implemented in cooperation with partners around the world. The results of the PISA 2018 international student assessment study show that Estonia's education system is among the best in the world.

In response to the Kyrgyz side's proposal, the Estonian side expressed willingness to share its experience in educational reforms accumulated over nearly three decades, in particular digital achievements and innovative solutions in education, in general and vocational education, as well as in preparation for PISA (Programme for International Student Assessment).

At the end of the meeting, the minister and the ambassador expressed readiness to make joint efforts to implement agreements reached during the meeting, as well as to share their experiences to jointly participate in international educational projects.
