Kyrgyzstan expects fourth wave of COVID-19 after parliamentary elections

Bishkek, Oct. 4, 2021 . / Kabar / . The fourth wave of COVID-19 is expected in late November after the elections to Jogorku Kenesh and in early December of this year, Minister of Health and Social Development of Kyrgyzstan Alymkadyr Beishenaliyev said on Birinchi Radio on Monday.

According to him, hospitals are equipped with medicines and PPE for three months in advance.

"Health care has survived the third wave very successfully, there were 10 times fewer deaths compared to the previous waves. In addition, hospitals are better equipped with equipment such as concentrators and ventilators this year. If citizens are more actively vaccinated, I think we will pass the fourth wave even better," the minister said.

A total of 836,541 coronavirus vaccines were administered in Kyrgyzstan since the beginning of the vaccination campaign on March 29, 2021.
