Bishkek, Jan. 24, 2022 . / Kabar / . Kyrgyzstan exported more than 5 thousand tons of fish in 2021, Director of the Fisheries Department Edil Niyazov told a press conference at Kabar News Agency.
He said that 194 fish farms are registered in the country.
“Commercial fish production in 2021 was 10 thousand 344 tons, in 2020 this figure was 5 thousand 139 tons. Along with the increase in production, the export potential is also growing. If in 2020 the export was a little more than 3 thousand tons, in 2021 the export was more than 5 thousand tons," Niyazov added.
The head of the Fisheries Department noted that mainly two types of fish are produced in the country - carp and trout.
