Bishkek, Apr. 7, 2020. /Kabar/. Since early 2020, 9,136.46 tones of potatoes have been exported from Kyrgyzstan, the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Industry and Land Reclamation of the country said Tuesday.
The importing countries are mainly states of the near abroad. The largest amount of potatoes was sold in Uzbekistan (almost 6.5 thousand tons).
Then comes Turkmenistan - about 2 thousand tons. In addition, domestic potatoes are exported to Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus and Ukraine.
For today, there are a little more than 47 thousand tons of potatoes left in the republic. Most of it will be released for sale in the domestic market.
The rest of the potatoes will be used for sowing. As for the export of goods, due to current situation in the world with coronavirus infection, many importers can not enter the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic.
