Kyrgyzstan exports 1.1 thsd tons of dried apples since beginning of year

Bishkek, Dec. 2, 2024. /Kabar/. About 260 thousand tons of fruit and berry products are harvested in Kyrgyzstan annually, the Ministry of Agriculture reported.

According to the ministry, in 2023, Kyrgyzstan exported 1.5 thousand tons of dried apples.

The countries exporting dried apples from Kyrgyzstan are: Germany (904.7 tons), Turkiye (307.7 tons), Russia (234.0 tons), Kazakhstan (56.4 tons), the USA (1.2 tons) and Japan (0.5 tons).

For 9 months of 2024, Kyrgyzstan exported 1.1 thousand tons of dried apples.

The countries exporting dried apples from Kyrgyzstan are: Germany (513.6 tons), Turkiye (332.2 tons), Russia (225.0 tons), Kazakhstan (28.3 tons), and Japan (0.3 tons).

Dried apples are also exported mixed with other dried fruits. In 2023, a small amount of dried fruits was exported to Bahrain, Qatar, Korea and Japan.

Today's method of drying apples has adapted to the demands of the times, and dried apples are used more as "snacks".

During the drying process, apples retain almost the entire vitamin and mineral complex inherent in fresh fruits. Moreover, the concentration of vitamins and minerals in the product increases several times. Dried apples contain vitamins B, C, as well as potassium, calcium, iron, phosphorus, antioxidants, dietary fiber, pectin.

The presence of fiber and pectin helps to remove excess cholesterol, toxins and slags from the body. Dried apples are useful for normalizing the activity of the heart muscle, are a preventive measure against the occurrence of cholesterol plaques on the walls of blood vessels.

Dried apples help fight cancer, as they contain a large number of antioxidants. Also, dried apple fiber prevents obesity, dried apples improve digestion.
