Kyrgyzstan exports 3,875 tons of prunes this year

Bishkek, Nov. 22, 2024. / Kabar /. Kyrgyzstan exported 3,875 tons of prunes in 2024, the Ministry of Agriculture reported.

According to data of the ministry, prunes are grown on 2.3 thousand hectares in the country. They are mainly distributed in the Aksy and Ala-Buka districts of the Jalal-Abad region, and the Bakai-Ata district of the Talas region.

The most of the exports go to Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Russia. In total, 3,875 tons of undried (raw) products were exported in 2024.

At the same time, the drying process for dried apricots export is currently underway.

The ministry added that prunes contain many essential vitamins, such as iron, calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, manganese, etc., which are necessary for the human body. It stimulates the gastrointestinal tract and cardiovascular system, fights kidney and liver diseases, and fights osteoporosis. It also suppresses the growth of cancer cells.
