Bishkek, Jan. 16, 2024 /Kabar/. Kyrgyzstan exported more than 850 thousand tons of agricultural products in 2023, head of the Department of Chemicalization, Plant Protection and Quarantine Dyikanbai Kenzhebaev told during a press conference at Kabar Agency.
He said that to protect the republic from the import, penetration, and spread of pests, 29 phytosanitary posts operate at the borders, where the import and export of agricultural products is controlled.
Thus, 892 thousand tons of agricultural products were imported into the republic in 2023, for which 54 thousand 742 phytosanitary certificates were issued, 851 thousand tons of agricultural products were exported, 47 thousand 524 phytosanitary certificates were issued.
He informed that in order to identify harmful organisms, studies were carried out on the cultivated area, and appropriate measures were taken on 144 thousand 800 hectares.
“All imported and exported products are tested in laboratories. These laboratories issue permits for the import and export of agricultural products,” Kenzhebaev said.
