Bishkek, Oct. 27, 2020. /Kabar/. The Kyrgyz capital city of Bishkek hosted on Tuesday a meeting between Kyrgyzstan’s Foreign Minister Ruslan Kazakbayev and German Ambassador to the Kyrgyz Republic Monika Iversen, the press service of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry said.
Kazakbayev informed the ambassador about the domestic political situation in the country and upcoming important political events, as well as current activities of the country's leadership aimed at solving socio-economic problems, the fight against coronavirus and other pressing issues.
The minister expressed gratitude to the German Government for the support and assistance to the republic over the years of cooperation, especially in the fight against COVID-19, and expressed the hope that the German side would continue to support the Kyrgyz Government.
Ambassador Iversen noted with satisfaction the high level of the Kyrgyz-German bilateral relations, in the framework of which projects on health and sustainable economic development are being successfully implemented in the Kyrgyz Republic.
She especially noted Kyrgyzstan's achievements on the way of democratic development, and emphasized the importance of further strengthening democratic processes in the country.
Issues on the bilateral agenda of cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Germany were discussed during the meeting. The parties expressed readiness to further strengthen political dialogue and expand bilateral ties.
Minister Kazakbayev noted the need to intensify cooperation between the two countries in various areas of mutual interest.
