Kyrgyzstan harvests 71% of grain crops

Bishkek, Aug. 21, 2024. / Kabar/. Kyrgyzstan has harvested 71% of grain crops to date, the Ministry of Agriculture reported.

According to the ministry, the harvest rate this year is higher than last year.

For example, 221.1 thousand tons of potatoes were harvested, which is 14.6 thousand tons more than last year. The average yield was 170.0 c/ha, which is 4.2 c/ha higher than last year.

The harvest rate of vegetables and melons is also good - 451.2 and 186.3 thousand tons were harvested, which is 119.8 thousand tons higher than last year.

810 combines are harvesting grain crops, which is 53 more than last year.

According to the operational data of the representatives of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic in the regions, 351.2 thousand hectares of grain crops (wheat and barley) have been harvested, or 71.5%, which is 71.2 thousand hectares more than last year.

- 186.4 thousand hectares of wheat, or 77.5%, 42.1 thousand hectares more than last year;

- barley 164.8 thousand hectares - 65.7%, or 29.1 thousand hectares more than last year.

The average yield of wheat is 29.4 c/ha, barley - 25.8 c/ha, which is 6.4-4.8 c/ha higher than last year.

Grain (wheat, barley) in bunker weight was collected 972.0 thousand tons, which is 355.7 thousand tons more than last year.

- wheat - 547.3 thousand tons were collected, or 216.1 thousand tons more;

- barley - 424.7 thousand tons were collected, which is 139.6 thousand tons more.
