Bishkek, Feb.2, 2020./Kabar/. Kyrgyzstan has evacuated its citizens from China in connection with the outbreak and spread of coronavirus infection, the press service of the Health Ministry of the country said on Sunday.

18 Kyrgyz citizens who were in the Chinese city of Wuhan were taken on Sunday by special flight to Bishkek from Nur-Sultan.

Previously, the students have arrived in the Kazakh capital with the assistance of Kazakhstan.

"All the citizens arrived were checked at the airport, and placed under quarantine in a specially designated infectious diseases department of the hospital outside the city of Bishkek," the ministry's press service reported.

The hospital meets infectious safety conditions, and is equipped with the necessary laboratory and treatment equipment and qualified medical personnel.

Evacuated citizens will undergo additional screening, primarily for coronavirus infection.

"During the quarantine period, only medical personnel will have contact with the arriving persons. Additional information can be obtained from the operational headquarters of the Kyrgyz Ministry of Health," the report says.
