Bishkek, Oct. 01, 2018. /Kabar/. Following the nomination of the candidacy from the Kyrgyz Republic and unanimous approval by the member countries of the World Trade Organization, the candidacy of Mukhtar Jumaliev, former ambassador, the Permanent Representative of the Kyrgyz Republic to the WTO, was approved at the WTO headquarters for inclusion in the indicative list of governmental and non- governmental representatives of the WTO member states for further formation of the panel (note: commission) on the settlement of trade disputes, the press service of the Ministry of Justice of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
In case of any trade dispute between the WTO member states, Jumaliev can be included in the panel consisting of 3 to 5 people, the purpose of which is to study the legal aspects of the disputed issue between WTO members, prepare the conclusion and issue of the relevant draft decision on the trade dispute.
One of the most important functions of the WTO is resolution of disputes and ensuring protection of trade rights of member states of this organization through the mechanism of the Dispute Settlement Body.
Jumaliev is the first representative of the Kyrgyz Republic, involved in the WTO bodies for the settlement of disputes.
