Kyrgyzstan has surplus of higher education specialists

Bishkek, Oct. 2, 2018. / Kabar /. Kyrgyzstan lacks a working profession, while there is a surplus of specialists with higher education, head of the department of social and economic protection of workers of the Federation of Trade Unions Gulmira Kasymalieva told in Bishkek.

She said that Kyrgyzstanis either have to retrain in order to get a second education, or go abroad for employment purposes.

“We, as trade unions, carry out explanatory work in order to inform migrants what they need to know when traveling abroad,” Kasymalieva stressed.

She also said that today there is a need of creating a national qualification system in the Kyrgyz Republic.

“The first steps have already been taken in this direction, the national qualification has been adopted, but it has been approved only by two departments. It is necessary to approve at a high level, by a government decree. Creating a system involves developing professional standards, creating certification centers and confirming qualifications,” she said.
