Bishkek, July 1, 2020 / Kabar /. Kyrgyzstan held elections of mayor of Kara-Suu town in Osh Oblast from 9:00 a.m. till 12:00 p.m.
The elections have been held in compliance with sanitary and epidemiological rules, the press service of the Central Election Commission reported.
The mayor of Kara-Suu was relieved of his post on March 4, 2020 according to his application.
By a resolution of the CEC of the Kyrgyz Republic of March 6, 2020, the election of a new mayor was scheduled for March 25, 2020.
Due to the introduction of the emergency regime in view of the coronavirus pandemic, the elections were suspended.
According to the decree of the CEC of the Kyrgyz Republic of June 26, 2020, the suspended election of heads of local self-governments was resumed from June 29, 2020.
The CEC, together with local state bodies and local self-government, took measures to ensure epidemiological safety and protect the health of citizens: a complete disinfection of the polling place and all surfaces, a distance of 1.5-2 meters between the participants in the electoral process, sanitizers are installed at the entrance to the polling station and at the place of issue of ballots; at the entrance, a temperature is measured by a non-contact thermometer, all TEC participants were provided with personal protective equipment - disposable masks and gloves, throughout the election process, the disinfection of the materials and objects used is carried out.
