Cholpon-Ata, July 2, 2024. /Kabar/. President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov, at a meeting with UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres, noted that Kyrgyzstan had submitted its candidacy for non-permanent membership in the UN Security Council.
He said that Kyrgyzstan intends to submit its candidacy for non-permanent membership in the UN Security Council for 2027-2028. “Our country, like 60 countries of the world, has never been a member of the UN Security Council. Every country that is a member of the UN must have the right to membership in the UN Security Council. The election of Kyrgyzstan as a member of the UN Security Council would enable the world community to correct historical injustice, and would also show the political will to provide equal rights to all UN member countries.
