Kyrgyzstan hosts premiere of documentary devoted to BRI

Bishkek, Nov. 30, 2023. / Kabar/. The capital of Kyrgyzstan, Bishkek, hosted the premiere of the documentary film “One Belt, One Road: Next to You,” in honor of the 10th anniversary of the One Belt, One Road initiative.

The premiere was attended by Chinese Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Du Dewen, Minister of Transport and Communications of Kyrgyzstan Tilek Tekebaev, Deputy Minister of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy of Kyrgyzstan Chyngyz Esengul uulu and others.

In her speech, Du Dewen noted that this year marks the 10th anniversary of the start of the joint construction of One Belt, One Road.

“Over the past 10 years, through the joint efforts of all countries, the construction of One Belt, One Road has evolved from a Chinese initiative into an international practice and has produced fruitful results, bringing tangible benefits to the people of countries located along the route.

The diplomat emphasized that currently Chinese-Kyrgyz relations are at a new historical height, the two countries have truly become good neighbors, partners, friends and brothers.

“I believe that the high-quality joint construction of the Belt and Road between China and Kyrgyzstan will bring more and more benefits to the people of the two countries, and China and Kyrgyzstan will continue to work together to promote the construction of the Belt and Road and the Chinese-Kyrgyzstan Kyrgyz community with a common destiny,” Du Dewen said.

In turn, the transport minister of Kyrgyzstan noted that the documentary tells about the impressive results of the implementation of the One Belt, One Road initiative over the past 10 years.

“This initiative has helped create transit corridors, improve transport connections, deepen cooperation and have a positive impact on countries, including Kyrgyzstan,” he said.

Deputy Minister of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy Chyngyz Esengul uulu noted that Kyrgyzstan and China have long-standing good neighborly relations that continue to flourish today.

“Our cooperation is comprehensive and covers all spheres of the country’s life. Cultural exchanges are one of the priority areas of relations between the two countries, and every year the number of programs and projects that find a warm response in the hearts of our fraternal peoples is growing,” he emphasized.

“Our cultural bridge will provide residents of both countries with greater opportunities to understand and appreciate each other's culture and traditions. I am confident that this cultural exchange program will become another springboard for the development of cooperation between the two countries,” he concluded.

The documentary film “One Belt, One Road: Next to You” vividly reflects the process and achievements of China and Kyrgyzstan in building the One Belt, One Road over the past ten years. The five episodes cover cooperation in the fields of infrastructure construction, economics and trade, transport, agriculture and culture. The documentary will be broadcast through the Central Asian section “Poetry and Painting of Zhejiang” of the Chinese TV Theater, created jointly by Dolon TV and the National Broadcasting Corporation of Kyrgyzstan.

“TV Theater of China is a brand project created by the State Administration of Radio and Television to promote the regular broadcast of outstanding Chinese audiovisual programs on fixed channels, time slots or special areas of foreign mainstream media and online audiovisual platforms to tell the world about history of China.

As the second largest cable TV operator in Kyrgyzstan, Dolon TV is an influential television platform in Central Asia with more than 100 channels in Russian, Chinese and English. In addition to providing cable television services, Dolon has two licenses to provide Internet and voice communications services.

Since the launch of the One Belt, One Road initiative, Dolon TV has been actively interacting with Chinese media in a variety of formats, including the joint creation of sections and channels, as well as adaptation, packaging and duplication of content. In addition, the company broadcasts Chinese programs in Kyrgyzstan and neighboring regions, actively promoting the spread of ideas and the One Belt, One Road initiative in Central Asia.
