Kyrgyzstan, IDB discuss implementation of ongoing projects

As part of the participation of the Kyrgyz delegation in the 47th annual meeting of the Governors of the Islamic Development Bank Group, First Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic Arzybek Kozhoshev met with President of the Islamic Development Bank Mohammad bin Suleiman Al-Jasser, the press service of the Cabinet reported.

During the meeting, topical issues of bilateral cooperation, the implementation of ongoing projects implemented by the Islamic Development Bank in the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as issues of further expansion of project cooperation, in particular, an increase in projects that are priority for the development of the Kyrgyz Republic, were discussed.

The sides mutually stressed the need to develop and sign as soon as possible the Country Cooperation Strategy between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Islamic Development Bank for the period 2022-2027.

Arzybek Kozhoshev conveyed a message from President Sadyr Zhaparov to the head of the Islamic Development Bank on the opening of an office of the Islamic Development Bank in Bishkek.

“The opening of a representative office of the bank will contribute to the implementation of new projects in many priority areas for the country and will give impetus to the development of our cooperation,” the first deputy chairman of the Cabinet emphasized.

“We are interested in strengthening and expanding project cooperation with Kyrgyzstan in the implementation of various infrastructure projects, with an emphasis on identifying new priority projects and increasing the efficiency of their implementation,” the president of the Islamic Development Bank said.

Particular attention was also paid to the issue of holding the Fourth Round Table in the near future with the participation of members of the Arab Coordination Group, which includes the Islamic Development Bank, the Saudi Development Fund, the Qatar Development Fund, the Kuwait Arab Development Fund and the OPEC International Development Fund.

The Kyrgyz side invited Dr. Mohammad bin Suleiman Al-Jasser to visit Kyrgyzstan, which was accepted.
