Kyrgyzstan imported over 327 thsd tons of oil products since beginning of year

Bishkek, April 5, 2021 . / Kabar / . Kyrgyzstan’s oil traders continue to uninterruptedly provide the republic with the necessary volumes of petroleum products, the Association of Oil Traders of Kyrgyzstan said on Monday.

Thus, according to preliminary data for January - March 2021, a total of 327.5 thousand tons of oil products were imported into the republic, including gasoline - 182 thousand tons, diesel - 145.5 thousand tons, jet fuel - 10.3 thousand tons.

The Association notes that oil traders fully cover the needs of the republic in fuels and lubricants, thereby implementing their main task of providing Kyrgyzstan with oil products, while preventing any shortage.

"The main source of supply of gasoline to the republic is the Russian Federation. Thanks to an agreement reached between Kyrgyzstan and Russia, the supply of petroleum products is exempt from export duties. This form of support from the Russian side allows consumers of Kyrgyzstan to save significant amounts: thus, for the first quarter of 2021 savings on duties amounted to $4.2 million U.S. dollars,” the report says.
