Bishkek, Feb.29, 2020./Kabar/. Kyrgyzstan is imposing temporary restrictions on the entry into the country of citizens of a number of countries against the background of the threat of coronavirus infection. This became known on Friday at the regular meeting of the Republican Headquarters for Preventing Import and Further Spread of Coronavirus.
According to the Government's press service, this measure is recommended to the Republican Headquarters by the Health Ministry of the country, taking into account the current epidemiological situation in the world.
Restrictions on entry for citizens of China, Iran, Japan, South Korea and Italy (the list will be extended taking into account the epidemiological situation in the world) will begin to operate from March 1, 2020.
These restrictions will apply to all citizens of these countries who come to Kyrgyzstan for work, tourism and personal purposes, except for persons holding diplomatic passports.
The ban on entry for foreign nationals is introduced due to the deterioration of the epidemiological situation, and the continued arrival on the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic of citizens from countries with a poor epidemiological situation.
Also, since March 1, registration of invitations to the Kyrgyz Republic for citizens of these states will be suspended.
Deputy Prime Minister Altynai Omurbekova noted this forced temporary measure is due to the fact that the situation in the world is changing rapidly.
"This decision is explained by the goals of ensuring security and protection of health of the population of the Kyrgyz Republic and preventing the spread of coronavirus infection", she said.
Also, citizens of those countries where less than 10 cases of coronavirus have been identified, will be observed for three days when crossing the Kyrgyz Republic state border.
"All citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic, temporarily living or staying in countries with a bad epidemiological situation, after arrival in their homeland will be subject to mandatory screening and 14-day quarantine, and only after that they will be allowed to enter the country," recalled the deputy PM.
Minister of Health Kosmosbek Cholponbayev noted as of Feb.28, there are no confirmed cases of coronavirus in the republic. All checkpoints on the state border of the Kyrgyz Republic are continuing to work in a reinforced regime.
Kyrgyzstan is receiving another batch of express tests from its Russian partners. The minister also recalled state bodies are constantly monitoring the global situation and are in constant contact with the World Health Organization.
Following the results of the meeting, a number of instructions were given to the specialized state structures.
The Ministry of Education and Science has been instructed to continue the information and awareness-raising work in all educational institutions of the republic about the coronavirus, rules of personal hygiene for the prevention of influenza and ODS, including coronavirus.
In addition, all citizens are advised to avoid the place of mass congestion as far as possible, and to limit activities involving large numbers of people.
