Bishkek, Feb.3, 2020. /Kabar/. In recent years, Kyrgyzstan has been dynamically improving its position on the corruption perception index (CPI) according to the Transparency International, the press service of the Kyrgyz Prosecutor General's Office reported.
Another report on the results of the global corruption survey was published on Jan. 23, 2020.
Since 2017, on CPI Kyrgyzstan has improved its score by 9 points, rising from 135 to 126 of 180 countries with a score of 30.
Among the CIS countries that have reduced the level of corruption, Georgia leads occupying 44th place (56 points). Uzbekistan and Tajikistan are in the worst position, with 153rd place (25 points). Turkmenistan is in last place with 165 (19 points).
According to this index, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan have the best indicators among the Central Asian countries.
In the ranking, Kyrgyzstan shares 126th place with 30 points together with Ukraine and Azerbaijan.
Earlier, according to international assessments, in 2010 the Kyrgyz Republic in scored 2 points out of 10 possible and took 164th place in the world out of 178 countries, and was in the group of countries with high levels of corruption.
The Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) is an index published annually by Transparency International since 1995 which ranks countries "by their perceived levels of public sector corruption, as determined by expert assessments and opinion surveys."
