Kyrgyzstan increases export of meat, milk and honey

Bishkek, Feb. 18, 2020 / Kabar /. 3,766 veterinarians work in Kyrgyzstan, 2,565 of them are private, director of the country’s State Inspectorate for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Safety Kalysbek Zhumakanov told reporters during the press conference at Kabar News Agency.

There are 8 slaughter shops in Kyrgyzstan that meet international standards, which are included in the EAEU (Eurasian Economic Union) registry, he said.

“They are included in the registry, which gives the right to export agricultural products abroad. This registry includes 114 enterprises engaged in the production of meat, milk, honey, fish,” Zhumakanov noted.

He also said that according to the results of 2019, about 2 thousand tons of meat products were exported, which were shipped to Iran - 800 tons, also to Kuwait and the EAEU countries.

“Also, Kyrgyzstan exported more than 2 thousand tons of fish last year, honey export increased and amounted to more than 510 tons to countries such as China, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Qatar, Japan and Canada. Also, the export of dairy products grew to 4 thousand tons and amounted to about 30 thousand tons,” Zhumakanov said.
