Kyrgyzstan increases exports, reduces imports of agricultural products

Bishkek, July 19, 2022. /Kabar/. Export of agricultural products from January to May this year amounted to KGS 15 billion 75.4 million, or increased by 36%, Askarbek Dzhanybekov, the agriculture minister of Kyrgyzstan said at a press conference.

Of these:

- Livestock products were exported for KGS 2 billion 608 million, which is 3 times more than last year's level;

- Plant-growing production exports totaled KGS 5 billion 758.8 million, or 34.7% more than in 2021;

- Export of food and processing industry products amounted to KGS 6 billion 708.6 million, or 14.1% more than in 2021.

In January-May 2022, the share of imports of agricultural and processing industry products amounted to 11.4%, while in 2021 this share reached 15.6%.
