Bishkek, Dec.3, 2024. /Kabar/. At the regular meeting of the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), the initiative of Kyrgyzstan “On Amendments to the Rules of Registration of Medicines in the EAEU” approved by the Decision of the EEC Council dated Nov.3, 2016 was supported.
The Ministry of Economy of Kyrgyzstan reported that the amendments concern the introduction of a procedure for recognizing the results of registration of medicines registered in other member states at the initiative of the authorized body of a member state.
The amendments provide that the authorized body of a member state may initiate a procedure for recognition of the results of registration of medicinal products for medical use, if there are no registered analogues of a given medicinal product on the market of the member state.
The purpose of the innovation is to ensure the availability of medicinal products in member states where, due to low projected demand, their registration may not be economically viable for pharmaceutical manufacturers. Nevertheless, such medicines remain important for the health care system as they are often used in limited quantities or in specific medical cases.
