Nur-Sultan, Dec. 8, 2021 . / Kabar / . Kyrgyzstan intends to buy 12 thousand tons of winter wheat from Kazakhstan.
Nur-Sultan city of Kazakhstan hosted a meeting between Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Zhaparov and Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Askar Mamin.
During the meeting that took place as part of Zhaparov’s working trip to Nur-Sultan, the sides discussed a wide range of bilateral cooperation, the press service of the Cabinet said Wednesday.
Thus, the Kazakh side will assist in the delivery of 1 thousand tons of winter wheat.
However, Chairman Zhaparov noted that the need of the republic is 12 thousand tons of wheat and expressed readiness to buy the specified volume from the Kazakh side.
"President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov set a task before the Cabinet of Ministers to provide the population of the republic with 9 types of food, wheat is among them. We must ensure food security of the republic and buy the necessary amount of wheat in the near future,” the head of the Kyrgyz Cabinet said.
