Kyrgyzstan interested in experience of South Korea in IT and development of digital economy

Bishkek, Oct. 5, 2018. /Kabar/. Kyrgyzstan is interested in the experience of South Korea in development of information and communication technologies (IT) and the development of the digital economy. This topic was discussed by Deputy Minister of Economy Eldar Alisherov and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Economic Affairs of the Republic of Korea Yun Kang-hyeon.

The delegation from South Korea arrived in Bishkek in the framework of participation in the 8th Korean-Central Asian caravan.

The sides discussed the state and prospects of development of bilateral cooperation. The Korean side expressed hope for the conclusion of a free trade agreement between South Korea and the EAEU countries in the near future.

The sides also noted the existing potential for the development of bilateral trade, from January to July, 2018, the trade turnover amounted to $16.4 million.

The sides also discussed the issue of holding the upcoming meeting of the Kyrgyz-Korean intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation.
