Kyrgyzstan interested in increasing cargo traffic through Estonia, says FM

Bishkek, Sept. 25, 2021 . / Kabar / . On the sidelines of the 76th session of the UN General Assembly in New York, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Ruslan Kazakbaev held a bilateral meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Estonia Eva-Maria Liimets.

The press service of Kyrgyzstan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that during the conversation, the sides discussed a wide range of cooperation issues on political, trade and economic spheres, including digitalization.

In order to further develop political dialogue, the sides noted the need for regular inter-ministerial political consultation. The Kyrgyz foreign minister invited the high delegation and representatives of Estonian business to take part in the First EU-CA Economic Forum to be held on Nov. 5, 2021 in Bishkek

Ruslan Kazakbaev noted the interest of the Kyrgyz side to increase the volume of freight traffic through Estonia.

For her part, Eva-Maria Liimets asked for assistance in resolving the problem of the Estonian construction company Rand and Tuulberg Grupp, which invested in the economy of Kyrgyzstan.

A number of draft agreements on cooperation in various spheres were submitted to the Estonian side for consideration in order to intensify cooperation on a wide range of issues.

The foreign ministers also considered issues of cooperation in international platforms, including support for elections to the statutory bodies of the UN.

At the end of the meeting, Ruslan Kazakbaev invited Eva-Maria Liimets to pay a visit to Kyrgyzstan.
