Bishkek, Jan. 29, 2021. /Kabar/. Acting Minister of Internal Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Ulan Niyazbekov held on Friday a working meeting with Head of the Program Office of the UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) in the Kyrgyz Republic Andrey Seleznev.
During the meeting, the sides praised the level of cooperation between the Interior Ministry and the UNODC Programme Office, the press service of the ministry reported.
Ulan Niyazbekov expressed appreciation for the Program Office's support in countering drug trafficking, and expressed confidence for further close cooperation.
The minister also noted that, in accordance with the instruction of Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov, the Interior Ministry of the republic is strengthening its activities to combat organized crime, religious extremism, as well as crimes related to cybercrime.
Besides, Niyazbekov proposed to continue joint work in the fight against drug trafficking and to increase cooperation in combating organized crime, human trafficking and religious extremism.
In turn, Andrey Seleznev praised the position and initiative of the Interior Ministry and suggested ways of further development of close and fruitful partnership relations.
At the end of the meeting, the sides expressed confidence that the joint cooperation will be further developed and discussed the main priorities and joint projects for the coming period.
