Kyrgyzstan introduces restrictions on entry for foreigners

Bishkek, Mar.18, 2020 /Kabar/. Kyrgyzstan has introduced restrictions on entry for foreign nationals and stateless persons, Deputy Foreign Minister of the country Nurlan Abdrakhmanov said at the briefing.

He added a Government decree was issued, which states temporary restriction on all checkpoints for entry into Kyrgyzstan of all foreign citizens and stateless persons from 12:00 a.m. of Mar.19, 2020 until the official opening.

Meanwhile, exceptions will affect diplomats, their families, representatives of international organizations and members.

Also, the drivers engaged in international cargo transportation, flight crews. Employees of train locomotive brigades of railways, permanently working in neighboring countries, will be able to move on ID-cards.

In addition, exceptions will apply to foreign nationals who are family members of Kyrgyz citizens - spouse, parents, etc.

Abdrakhmanov noted the arrival of such persons will have to be reported in advance.

"The Foreign Ministry has suspended registration of all categories of entry persons," he said.

In conclusion, the deputy FM added Kyrgyz citizens can move freely, and foreigners in Kyrgyzstan can leave unhindered.
